Is too much lotion bad?

Is it possible to put too much lotion on a healing tattoo?

Absolutely. You risk making the scabbing too soft, which will then slip off when not fully healed, causing it to scar or pull the ink.

a little goes a long way. No matter where you are, do not over saturate your tattoo with lotion or non lanolin or vaseline based product. When you "wet" the healing protecting hard skin (the scab) you risk the scabbed layer peeling off to soon and screwing up the tattoo. Yes, too much lotion is very bad!!! No matter what area you live in. I would assume you would have to lather up more often, but never soak your tattoo in lotion.

To avoid over moisturizing just dont put on more until your skin is dry of all the pervious application and you wont hurt it

Agreed! You dry out every hour if you dont reapply

Just set your timer on your phone for every 3 hours and when it goes off put some more lotion on so you dont over lotion

I set my timer on my phone every 3 hours to go off then I put more lotion on

You really dont need a lot of lotion you just have to keep it moist so it doesnt get really scabby
