I dont know if I heal fast or what but when I had my tattoo of a butterfly on my ankle I was swimming in like 6 weeks and it never was messed up.Guess im lucky

you probably took better care of it than most people and you have good genetics

Or you dont know how good your tattoo could have potentially be and you faded it before it was fully healed

Go to the pool and show it off just dont get in the water

Surprising how many people dont want to follow a simple rule

Dont listen to anyone but the pro who gave you the tattoo or you will regret it

If I was told not to swim for 8 weeks I wouldnt swim for 12 weeks just to make sure

I was told not to go in 3-8 weeks depending on spot, type of tattoo, and how it healed within the first few weeks. The bigger, more colorful, the more time to heal. The smaller, usually just outlined, no color, usually pretty fast. Area will determine when its cool to submerge in water. There is no set time. Just check and if you feel your tatt is NOT apart of your skin, then don't chance it...

I vote she doesnt really know what she is talking about and is handing out bad advice
