We put a lot of trust into the people giving us a tattoo, sometimes too much. When we decide that a Chinese or Japanese symbol or character representing love or peace you should do some research first. There have been a number of cases where the client expects the research to already be done and picks the symbol that lists the meaning on the wall of the studio but the translation does not match. People thinking they are paying for one things are finding out after the fact that their symbols mean something else entirely and sometimes very embarrassing. Make sure you dont fall victim to this and do your own research first before entering for a tattoo.

Just get it done by an actual asian tattoo guy so he knows what he is writing

You can email a translation company so you can be certain that your symbol is what you think it is.

Everyone always wants tattoos of symbols to mean like peace,love,respect but nobody does funny ones like sex, nintendo, baby rhino. I think it would be funny to have a strange meaning so when somoene who actually can read it cracks up
