The Tedaldi Treatment: Tattoo removal
Dr. Ruth Tedaldi appeared on “The Morning Show” this week to discuss tattoo removals.
A 2012 statistic shows that now one in five American adults have a tattoo of some kind. What is crazy about this statistic is that 50% of those with tattoos want them removed.
The doctor explained that tattoo removal is done by dermabrasion, surgical excision, although the number one treatment and the typical method of removing a tattoo are by laser.
Yvette Johnson works in Dr. Tedaldi’s office and is also a patient for tattoo removal.
Yvette has spent thousands of dollars trying to remove her arm tattoo that she regrets. The sad fact of the matter is she will most likely always have a faint scar where the tattoo used to be.
Laser is not a magic eraser, there usually is always traces left behind of your former tattoo.
Dr. Tedaldi's advice for those considering tattoos: Think about the decision for several months, possibly years before taking the plunge with the needle.
She also suggests wearing a fake tattoo for a while, to see if it's a look that would really satisfy for years to come.
